Love For Lochlin Projects and the Cost of Operating

Transparency is key when operating a non-profit business. Below you can see all of our missions' projects and how much they cost to complete. This is a breakdown of where all of our donations go so that we can continue to serve our community.

With out the support of donations  we could not continue our mission!

Wellness Clinics

Our wellness clinics are our boots on the ground approach to reducing the spread of infectious diseases. With our mobile unit (AKA Big Blue) we on average hold a wellness clinic once every three days in the community!

At our wellness clinics we provide masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, cleaning products, clothing, test kits, and vaccines, all for free to those in need!

This program makes up 78% of our organization's overall expenses. With an average cost of over $1,000 per clinic!

Germ Prevention Program

In partnership with FCPS and other local organizations, we provide a germ prevention education for students all across Frederick County. This fun and engaging program has been a big hit in schools teaching students how germs spread and how to properly wash their hands! We put a fun twist on washing your hands and why it is important that is engaging for all ages!

This program makes up ~3% of our organizations over all expenses and cost around $400 per class

Student Nursing Capstone Program

Bridging Education and Community Care for a Healthier Tomorrow in collaboration with Hood College.

Through this innovative initiative, nursing students have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in local communities through our wellness clinics, gaining firsthand insights into the needs and challenges that shape the health landscape. This experience-based learning approach not only enriches the educational journey of the students but also equips them with a profound understanding of the diverse healthcare needs within our community. Simultaneously, our organization benefits from this partnership by enhancing our capacity to provide targeted and essential healthcare services.

This program makes up 6.5% of our overall expenses and cost our organization ~$57,000 annually

SEPSIS Awareness and Prevention

At the core of our mission is driving awareness and education around SEPSIS. Preventing infections is the best way to prevent SEPSIS however, providing awareness and education through training, legislation, and materials is the best way to make large scale impacts on this problem.

SEPSIS is the leading cause of death in Children worldwide, claiming over 3 million innocent children per year (per the W.H.O.). By implementing legislation that put protocols and procedures in place for all of our healthcare facilities we can improve early detection and intervention, ultimately saving more lives!

In early 2024 we were able to get "Lochlin's Law" passed in the state of Maryland! Lochlin's Law implements SEPSIS protocols and procedures for all health care facilities in the state of Maryland and requires annual training for all employees working in healthcare facilities.

Currently this project only makes up ~2% of our annual expense in materials and time. However, as we look to make Lochlin's Law a federal law, this expense will grow significantly.
